7 place In The World Where You Are Not Allowed To Visit As A Woman.

If you’re a traveller who loves going to places around the word, then I got some bad news for you as there are some places you might not be welcomed in.

In this article, I will show you the top destinations where a woman cannot afford to find herself at.

1. Mount Athos

This island located in Greece was declared a Cultural World Heritage site in 1998 yet it isn’t for everyone. For religious reasons, women are not allowed to travel or live there and are even warned to stay as far as 500meters (1640ft) from the mountain.

2. Mlimadji Beach

This beach on the island of Comoros in Africa, might not be the ideal place for a honeymoon for newly Weds. The religious community that live around the beach have put pressure on the authorities to prohibit women from entering that particular beach.

3. Okinoshima

Okinoshima is a small island in Japan and a very sacred one indeed. The island is believed to be so sacred that it forbids the entrance of women. In fact, every May, only 200 “special” male visitors are given permits to visit the island.

4. Ayyapan Temple

Just some temples in Asia, the Ayyapan Temple in India is prohibited to women. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu God Ayyapan, and women who are believed to be fertile between the ages of 14-50years are not allowed in as it is considered a “celibate” place.

5.X-treme Faser Water Slide

While most parks are fun and available to all genders, this particular park in Germany is quite different. The Galaxy Erding Park forbids women to enter certain water attractions after complaints of several women suffering genital injuries after going in one of the rides that makes users reach speeds of up to 70km per hour.

6.Haji Ali Dargah.

The Haji Ali Dargah temple is located in Bombay, India and is an islet home to the tomb of Saint Sufi Pir Aji Ali Bujhari, whose mausoleum forbids women from entering since 2011. The reason for this is that women might be going through their menstrual period at any given time which makes them “impure”.

A Kafenion is a Greek shop were coffee drinks are sold. These are usually places for men to relax, talk, play cards and other activities that doesn’t involve women, so no woman is suppose be found there except perhaps, the coffee seller.

Do you think it is strange not to allow women visit those places?
